Burger Salad

Ingredients
 

  • 500 grams beef mince
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ red onion - finely diced (or thinly sliced if cooking)
  • 1 iceburg lettuce - shredded
  • 1 punnet cherry tomatoes - halved
  • 100 grams tasty cheese - grated
  • pickles

Burger Sauce

  • ¼ BBQ sauce - we used mingle
  • ¼ mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard

Instructions
 

  • Step 1 - prepare the salad ingredients, shred the lettuce, cut tomatoes and dice/slice onion.
  • Step 2 - heat the olive oil in a large frypan on the stove on high heat. Add the mince, garlic and onion powders and season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally for 5-6 minutes.
  • Step 3 - make the burger sauce by combining the bbq sauce, mayo and dijon in a small bowl.

Step 4 - assemble the burger bowls, add in the lettuce, tomatoes, beef, cheese and pickles. Top with pickles.
